I am in Carlsbad! It was one heck of a journey via airplane. While I was on my way over, I already felt the Spirit of the Lord helping me know what to say! The Lord was blessing me as I did His work here in the field. In the airport, I met about 8 to 12 families, and talked to many other people. I gave about three other cards and one seemed to desire to know. He loved talking about God and the love of him. He loved Jesus Christ as well, so I hope he calls for missionaries. He was a worker at the airport. He was very kind and welcomed me to California. At the end of my trip, I met my mission president and my Zone Leaders, whom are elders called to be in charge of a specific area. It was very wonderful and I am safe here in the California Carlsbad Mission. I am going to Escondito. My companion is Elder Armstrong and is my senior companion.(So far) We’ve had one investigator meeting that was really interesting. We met a nice woman. She is Catholic and (being a believer of Christ) she was interested in our message. She is basically almost blind and could only see shapes. Her name is Eva. She was wondering and asking questions about the Atonement of Christ. As we talked, we explained to her the importance of it and gave her a little more information about it. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, does not suffer every time we sin, since he had already paid the price of the Atonement; and we use the Atonement for it’s a good thing (it satisfied the laws of justice and mercy). Jesus Christ willingly died on the Cross for our sins because He loves and cares about us. Our Lord and Savior had been sent by his Heavenly Father to live and die for us, for the only way that we can be saved from our sins is through Christ’s sacrifice. He saves us from the Fall (of Adam and Eve). We, however, explained how the fall was not a bad thing. In fact, if it weren’t for the Fall of Adam and Eve, we would not be here right now. The Fall was supposed to happen if we were to learn to learn and progress. God, our Heavenly Father, was not surprised and knew this would happen, which is why He had a Savior prepared for us beforehand so we could be saved and return to Him. She was wondering, why Heavenly Father would send his Son to die for us in such a way. My companion started explaining why this happened while I experienced feeling the Spirit of the Lord testify:
16 ¶ For God so loved the world, that he gave his onlybegotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. – John 3:16-17
